La Spezia & the Gulf of Poets
The second destination to discover is La Spezia, the provincial capital and the largest city in eastern Liguria. Rich in maritime history and cultural influences, it offers Liberty and Futurist architecture, museums, lively cafés and elegant promenades. It’s an excellent choice for activities beyond the beach, especially during the quieter seasons. From here, you can admire incredible views across the Gulf of Poets, including Porto Venere, Le Grazie, Cadimare and the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto.
Good to know: La Spezia is the main gateway to the Cinque Terre, thanks to its railway station, ferry services and port connections.
